Systems have been my thing for as long as I can remember. I always created new systems to find an easier and faster way to do something. Some view it as lazy, while others view it as smart. To me, systems are meant to be improved often and are never “done”.
You start by taking action and then creating a system. Every time you follow it, you’re getting data on what’s working well, what’s not, and how you can improve things for yourself and others. It’s the constant process of taking action, learning, and making changes that I love.
By the time I had my second child, I knew I wanted a different life for her. I didn’t want to put her in daycare and have someone else raise her, while I went to school as a Montessori teacher raising other people’s kids.
Determined to create a different life, I read Marie Forleo’s Everything is Figureoutable and researched dozens of entrepreneurs who had figured out how to make money with their online business.
This is the way, I thought to myself, as I pumped milk at work while tearing through book after book. I settled on a business name and filed all the paperwork to make it official. Fast forward 4 years and I feel so proud of all the steps I took while scared and hoping not to fail.
It ain’t perfect, but one step at a time is all it takes to create something different. I’m passionate about helping creatives get their ideas out there quickly, so their procrastination, over thinking, and perfectionist tendencies don’t take over and sabotage them before they even begin.
Having a supportive community and resources has helped me through some challenging times in my journey. Entrepreneurship is truly a self-development journey and one that’s best lived with a little help from some friends.
We are all so incredibly powerful and have what we need inside us already. Somewhere along the way, we forgot that and took the advice of gurus and followed endless trends that promised us all we needed to 10x our business or reach the 6, 7, 8 figure income mark the industry thinks we’re all striving to reach.
I say it’s time to get back to basics and simplify EVERYTHING.
