Networking for business can be intimidating for some people. You may be comfortable in your immediate network of family, friends or business colleagues, but venturing into a huge room with strangers may be extremely uncomfortable.
Our podcast guest is business expert, Darcy Roberts, of Spiral By Design Consulting. Darcy guides us through, “what is networking”, “how to overcome your fears about networking” and how to “network effectively”.
Darcy also talks about networking in person versus online networking through social media platforms such as facebook and LinkedIn. In this podcast, Darcy references the ability in LinkedIn to write “notes” about people as a reminder of personal info about your contacts. Unfortunately, this feature has been discontinued. Darcy Roberts – bio
Darcy Roberts is a career coach, speaker and facilitator in Oakville, Canada who
wants people to love their work. She helps individuals and teams get more –
from themselves and from each other.
Darcy has an Honours BA, English Literature from the University of Toronto.
She completed her coach training with the Coaches Training Institute and
is an ACC accredited coach through the ICF (International Coach
Federation). Darcy is a certified facilitator of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®
method and will be speaking about LEGO SERIOUS PLAY at the HRPA annual conference in February 2018. She is a certified Emerson Suite effectiveness
coach of leader-managers and trained in the use of Facet5, which is a
personality assessment tool based on the Big 5 personality model.
