Michael Goldberg’s “Beyond Silicon Valley” book and Online Course Inspires!
IntroducingMichael Goldberg, Assistant Professor, Department of Design and Innovation, Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. Michael developed an online course called Beyond Silicon Valley: Growing Entrepreneurship in Transitioning Economies. Over 135,000 students have taken this course.
Inc.com named Beyond Silicon Valley one of the top online classes that “will make you smarter and more interesting.”
One of the inspirations for the course was his then Grade 3 daughter, Anna. Anna filmed “the chicken lady”, in Hanoi, Vietnam on her cell phone, which led Michael to think of how he could use the power of video to deliver a dynamic online course on the Coursera platform.
In this podcast, Michael talks about the evolution of his course to a book “Beyond Silicon Valley”, now available as a free download, and how the course influenced four women to advance entrepreneurship in different parts of the world.
